About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Staff platform engineer who plays a critical role in defining everything surrounding the cloud architecture landscape, guiding your peers and wider development teams along with providing assistance to mission critical projects.

The position requires deep expertise in AWS, CI/CD, Observability tooling, Security, Disaster Recovery, Incident Management, FinOps and Automation.  As a technical leader you will be leading the development and adoption of our AWS infrastructure and working closely with software development teams to ensure the reliability and scalability of our systems.

Your technical expertise along with soft skills will be the key to unlocking the full potential of this role and underlying impact.

What you will do
  • Leading technical discussions internally and with wider software development teams
  • Influencing and guiding on cloud development best practices
  • Continuously evolving and optimizing existing platform for maintenance, scalability and cost benefit
  • Fostering a culture of technical excellence through means of close collaboration
  • Making an impact by focusing on the most critical project areas of the business
  • Mentoring and coaching developers at all levels, fostering a culture of technical excellence through pair programming, design reviews, and code reviews
What we are looking for
  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering, with a focus on scalable infrastructure, automation, and cross-team collaboration.
  • Proven ability to build CI/CD pipelines for various languages (Node, Java, PHP) using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and ArgoCD.
  • Strong proficiency in scripting and coding with Bash, Node, and Python.
  • Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Deep expertise with AWS, covering a wide range of services.
  • Practical experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and supporting cloud architecture.
  • Familiarity with observability tooling (Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Elastic) and AWS security services.
  • Understanding of AWS Well-Architected Principles and robust infrastructure architecture.
  • Experience with implementing disaster recovery processes and a strong awareness of cloud cost control.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to execute initiatives efficiently.
